Oracle has reportedly initiated another round of layoffs beginning September 14, 2026, with employees receiving early‑morning notifications. While some internal teams are said to have faced double‑digit percentage cuts, the company has not confirmed any official global figure for this phase.
During fiscal 2026, Oracle’s total workforce declined by roughly 21,000 employees (around 13%), dropping from 162,000 to 141,000. This latest reduction comes as the company continues to invest heavily in AI infrastructure and data centers, increasing its restructuring budget by $700 million to an estimated $2.8 billion.
India remains a focal point of concern. Although reports have suggested that thousands of roles could be impacted, the frequently cited figure of around 3,000 job cuts has not been officially verified. Current indications point to multiple departments being affected, rather than a single function.
